A Note From Peter

I have been asked on numerous occasions if I would be interested in seeing, and becoming involved with, a Queen cover band. The majority of the time I have said NO!

Recently, totally out of the blue, I received an e-mail inviting me to see a Queen show "The Show Must Go On". The invite was worded such that it was very hard to turn down. I had time available, so I said YES! Believe me, after I had seen the show, I was very pleased I had gone!

I walked away at the end of the sold-out show having had goose bumps a few times during the previous couple of hours! It was great for me, during the course of the set, to watch the audience, and I was really taken back to my first tour, "The Crazy Tour of England", when Queen were playing smaller venues. Queen had the crowd on their feet within the first few songs, exactly like the Queen It’s A Kinda Magic cast did at the show I saw recently, and what was really good was they were able to keep them there for the whole show!

'The Show Must Go On' is the right name because it is 'the magic' that you feel when you walk away at the end of one of their shows, humming all those favourite tunes!

The show isn't just another cover band doing Queen songs. You really feel the casts and technical crew involvement and genuine love of the music that they reproduce on stage.

As most people say,'there was only one Freddie', but Craig Pesco does a damn good job of recreating the live Freddie on stage. It's wonderful to see the poses, and arm and hand movements again.

Out of curiosity I recently bought a cd with a cover band singing Queen songs, and after listening to it I can honestly say that I can't wait to see 'The Show Must Go On' again, just to get back some sense of the reality!
